Injections

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Concentrating your platelets 5-7x the norm to stimulate your body’s healing process For PRP procedures, Dr. Funk will draw several vials of blood in-office & centrifuge the blood down to separate the platelets from your WBCs & RBCs. When we concentrate your platelets, we are also concentrating growth factors that will stimulate healing & promote the growth of blood vessels & collagen in the injured tissues. Added: Dr. Funk has found in clinical practice that on average, chronic conditions like ligament instability in the shoulders & knees & tendonitis in elbows & ankles typically requires 3-4 treatments for the pain to completely resolve.

Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy treatments are performed using dextrose(sugar water) or PRP Prolotherapy is a very specific technique that is used to heal ligaments, tendons, and joints. It is a great treatment for those suffering from early stages of osteoarthritis. On average, 3-4 treatments are needed to resolve chronic pain. Patients usually need to refrain from intense exercise for several weeks to allow the regenerative process of the ligaments and soft tissue to heal appropriately.

Perineural (Nerve) Injections

Perineural Injection Therapy (PIT) is a regenerative injection using 5% dextrose to bathe the superficial nerves to decrease inflammation in the nerves For patients with generalized chronic pain Dr. Funk will normally start treatment plans with a few sessions of PIT (and trigger point injections – TPI) to down regulate inflammation in the nerves and relax chronically guarded/tight muscles. PIT & TPI allows better circulation to the soft tissue & connective tissue (aka FASCIA) so that you can have better mobility & function in only a matter of 3-6 sessions. This is a highly effective regenerative treatment for relatively little cost. If you think your pain is nerve related, this is THE treatment to consider.

Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy is one of the most effective natural treatments to decrease inflammation, optimize antimicrobial activity, and bring more oxygen to the tissues for quicker healing Dr. Funk uses ozone therapy as an adjunctive treatment for her regenerative injections to heal joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscle tissue. She also uses ozone systemically via IV infusion (called major autohemotherapy – MAH) to help patients suffering from systemic joint pain, mold & biotoxin illness, and is often part of the wellness protocol for patients with chronic illness. Multiple IV ozone treatments are needed.
